My 6 Week Dinner Menu

This is the method I use for cutting back on my grocery shopping. I go once every two weeks, so the the lists are combined for two weeks. The format on the blog wouldn't let me format it the way that I have it on my Word perfect program. I have the lists made so that it breaks the weeks up seperately and also into catagories, so that when I am at the store, all of the food is in order according to the way that the store is set up. I am a little bit insane!!! But I promise that this works. So you will have to seperate shoppinglist items if you want to change the order of the weeks. I do buy a lot of generic brands, and I buy things that are on sale, but I hae never had to sacrifce taste! I buy the big Pkgs of cheese from Costco, and I put the mozzerla and parmesan in the freezer so it doesn't go bad, and those will last for two months. The bag of Coby/Jack lasts for 1 month. This is also a great tool for a food storage guide. By following this guide, and going shopping every 2 weeks, you can gage how much your family really eats. If you times these ingredients by 12, you can stockup your food storage for 1 year. I started by buying several extra of all of the non-parishable foods. Then I calculated how much bread we go thru in one month and times those ingredients by 12. I did the same for oatmeal, pacakes, and cream of wheat. So, in other words, I formulated a breakfast menu for 1 week, then I timesed those ingredients by 52 (the number of weeks in a year) and then timesed that by 6 (the number of people in my family). Then I did lunch. It worked great!

SIDE NOTE: You will need to add Vegetables and Fruits to this Menu. We eat a lot of salad, green beans and peas! Make sur you add these to your grocery list!
